Salony — salon billing and booking software for India
Salony is billing and booking software for salons, spas, barbershops and nail studios in India. It runs in a browser on the counter PC and installs to a phone or tablet home screen — there is nothing to download and nothing to install. Every salon gets a free online booking page, and there is no commission on bookings taken through it.
It is three apps on one account: the dashboard the salon is run from, a separate app for a stylist's own phone, and a customer-facing screen for the counter that shows the bill as it is rung up and a UPI code for the exact amount due. All of it can be opened without an account — see “Try it” below.
What it does
- GST billing. Consecutive invoice numbering as GST requires, CGST and SGST stamped on each bill as it is raised, inclusive or exclusive tax, part payments, and returns and credit notes as documents of their own. GSTR-1, GSTR-2 and GSTR-3B summaries.
- Appointments. A chair-by-chair day board, a month view, and a public booking page. Times on offer are worked out from opening hours, each person's rota and the bookings already taken.
- Clients. Visit history, what somebody spends, what they still owe, and a follow-up list ranked by how overdue a client is against their own usual gap between visits.
- Staff. Attendance sign-in and out, monthly rotas, leave requests and approvals, incentive plans that pay a different rate on services and on retail, and payslips covering EPF, ESI, professional tax and TDS. There are three ways to mark in and a camera is not one of them: a rotating code shown on the counter screen, a fingerprint on the person's own phone, or a fingerprint reader plugged into the counter machine. The finger is matched inside the sensor that read it and only a signature is sent, so no image and no biometric template is ever transmitted or stored. Salony has no face recognition; it was removed from the product.
- The stylist's app. A separate app a member of staff installs on their own phone: mark in, their own day and only their own clients, book someone who walks up to them, and their hours, leave, payslips and this month's incentive. It never shows them the salon's margins, cost prices, or anybody else's pay.
- Gift cards and points. Gift cards issued with real codes and spent as tender at the till, with what is still owed on the outstanding ones visible; points that earn on spend and come off the next bill. There are no membership tiers, packages or session packs.
- Stock and purchases. Distributor bills, supplier ledgers, and salon-use stock counted separately from what is sold over the counter.
- Several branches. One account across shops, with prices, hours, staff, stock and bill numbering set per branch, and reporting that compares them. Owners of a group get a separate dashboard showing every shop's takings, collections and outstanding money side by side on one screen.
- Reports. Daily takings, staff performance, services and items, expenses, profit and loss, stock value and GST returns.
Who uses it
Salon owners in India, from a single chair to a group of branches. Owners, managers, front-desk staff and stylists each sign in separately and see a different amount: a stylist sees their own work and their own takings, never the salon's margins or anybody else's pay.
Try it
salony.in/demo opens the whole of it without an account: the dashboard from four different seats — owner, manager, front desk and stylist, each seeing less than the last — the stylist's phone app, the counter screen, and a sample salon's own website with its booking page. A sample salon is built in the browser and can be billed on; nothing done in it touches a real salon. To use it for real, sign in at dashboard.salony.in.
