A free booking website for your salon: what it needs and what it doesn’t
Most salons need a booking page, not a website. Here is the difference, and what actually converts a visitor into an appointment.
Most salon owners are sold a website when what they need is a booking page. The distinction matters because the two have completely different jobs.
A website tells people who you are. A booking page turns a visitor into an appointment. If you only build one, build the second.
What a booking page needs
Your services and prices. Visible without clicking. Price transparency is not a weakness — it filters out the people who were never going to book and reassures the ones who were.
Your hours. Including today's. "Open till 9 PM" is worth more than a weekly table.
Where you are. With a map link that opens the map app, not an embedded map that slows the page.
A book button that is always visible. Not once at the top and once at the bottom — persistently reachable.
Your team. Names and roles. People book people.
What it does not need
- A hero video. It delays the page and nobody watches it.
- A long "About us". Two sentences.
- A contact form. They will WhatsApp you.
- A blog, unless you are actually going to write one.
Speed decides more than design
A booking page that takes four seconds to load on a phone on mobile data loses people before they see how nice it looks. Most salon visitors are on a phone, often on a patchy connection.
Ruthlessly: fewer images, no video, no font-heavy design.
Your own address matters
A page on a marketplace is not yours. The traffic belongs to the marketplace, the customer relationship is mediated, and there is usually a commission on the booking.
Your own address — even a subdomain like yourname.salony.in — means the link in your Instagram bio goes to you, the booking is yours, and you keep the full amount.
Move to your own domain when you are ready. The important thing on day one is that the link exists.
Where the link goes
- Instagram bio. For most Indian salons this is the single highest-traffic placement.
- Google Business Profile. Add it as the appointment link. This is also where "salon near me" searches land.
- WhatsApp Business auto-reply.
- Every reminder and confirmation message you send.
Google Business Profile is not optional
For a local business, your Google listing does more work than your website. Claim it, fill in every field, add real photos, and ask happy clients for reviews.
A salon with 60 reviews at 4.7 stars beats a salon with a beautiful website and 4 reviews, every time, for every "near me" search.
Generate it, don't build it
Your services, prices, staff and hours already exist in your booking system. A page built from that data is always current. A hand-built page is out of date the first time you change a price — and it always is out of date, because updating it is somebody's job that nobody does.
